Target Audience
Designing for a weather app meant that the target audience was broad The target audience is inclusive of everyone and must be designed for both ends of the technological proficiency scale.
Concept
The app will focus on usability and accessibility. Such a broad audience comes with a diverse range of needs. Hence, I focused on customisation and personalisation so that the app can be intuitive and user friendly for everyone.
I conducted two rounds of usability testing to learn more about our users and to see what issues are currently affecting the audience.
Usability Testing
An updated user flow allowed me to enhance the original navigation to make the app more accessible for users from all different technological backgrounds.
Navigation
I developed the design of the app by sketching a number of different layouts to solve errors found in usability testing.
Development
Different colour palettes and typefaces allowed the design of the to be accessible for those with vision and intellectual disorders.
Accessibility
